Everything you need to know about concrete sawing, cutting, coring and grinding in Houston TX.
What is concrete sawing and when do I need it?
Concrete sawing is the process of cutting through hardened concrete using diamond-tipped saw blades. You need it when creating control joints in new slabs, cutting openings for plumbing or electrical, demolishing sections of concrete, creating doorways or windows in concrete walls, or repairing damaged concrete sections.
What is the difference between flat sawing and wall sawing?
Flat sawing cuts horizontal surfaces like floors, driveways, parking lots and bridge decks. Wall sawing cuts vertical or steeply angled surfaces using a track-mounted saw — for openings in walls, ceilings and elevated slabs.
How deep can you cut concrete?
Our flat saws cut up to 30 inches deep — enough for virtually any commercial or residential slab. The right blade and equipment are selected based on your required depth and concrete thickness.
Can you cut through concrete with rebar in it?
Yes. Diamond blades cut through reinforced concrete including rebar, wire mesh and post-tension cables. We recommend a GPR scan before cutting structural slabs to locate hidden utilities or post-tension cables.
Do you cut dry or wet?
We primarily use wet cutting to suppress silica dust and cool the blade — fully OSHA compliant. For interior jobs where water is a concern, we use dry cutting with industrial vacuum dust collection at the source.
What is green concrete cutting?
Early-entry sawing on freshly poured concrete — typically within 1 to 4 hours of placement — to cut control joints before the slab shrinks and cracks randomly. Our crews read the concrete and cut at exactly the right time.
What is concrete coring?
Precise circular holes drilled through concrete for plumbing, electrical, HVAC, drainage and anchor bolts. Holes from 1 inch to 60 inches in diameter at any angle — vertical, horizontal or overhead.
Do you offer same day service?
Yes. Construction schedules don't wait and neither do we. Contact us directly to discuss your timeline and we will do everything we can to accommodate urgent requests throughout greater Houston.
Are you licensed and insured in Texas?
Yes. Fully licensed and insured in Texas. We carry general liability and workers compensation on every job. Documentation available upon request for general contractors and project owners.
Can you cut materials other than concrete?
Yes. Our diamond blades cut brick, block, asphalt, masonry, stone and granite. Contact us with your material and project requirements and we will confirm the best approach.
